description: How to work with search results — recognize entities, save as notes, bookmark, analyze with AI, pin to a dashboard, and set up alerts.

# Using Search Results

The [News → Search]({APP_HOST}/documents/search) page does more than return matching documents — it gives you a set of tools to act on what you find. You can save, analyze, share, and monitor content without ever leaving the page.

## Entities in Results

As the search runs, the system automatically identifies **entities** mentioned in each result — people, places, organizations, events, and other named concepts. Recognized entities appear as tags below the excerpt of each result card.

Clicking an entity tag refines your current search to surface other documents that mention the same entity, making it easy to trace a topic or subject across multiple sources.

## Saving a Result as a Note

To keep a result for your own personal reference, click **→ Note** on the result card. The article is saved as a document note and is visible only to you.

Notes can be reviewed, edited, and later sent to AI analysis or [Deep Search]({APP_HOST}/documents/deepsearch). See [About Notes](../notes/about-notes) and [Handling Notes](../notes/handling-notes) for full details.

## Bookmarking a Result

To share a result with your entire organization, click the **Bookmark** button on the result card. You will be prompted to choose an existing bookmark collection or create a new one on the spot.

Bookmarks are visible to all members of your organization and can also be sent to AI analysis later. See [About Bookmarks](../bookmarks/about-bookmarks) and [Handling Bookmarks](../bookmarks/handling-bookmarks) for full details.

## Analyzing Results with AI

Each result card has an **Analyze** button that opens an AI analysis dialog for that document. From there you can:

- Request a **summary** of the article.
- **Ask questions** about its content.
- Apply an **analysis template** for consistent, structured insights.

For a full explanation of analysis options and how to read the results, see [Analysis Options](../analysis/analysis-options) and [Analysis Results](../analysis/analysis-results).

### Analyzing Multiple Results at Once

To compare or summarize several results together:

1. Click **Select** on each result you want to include.
2. Once at least one result is selected, click **Analyze (N)** in the toolbar, where *N* is the number of selected items.
3. The analysis dialog opens with all selected documents preloaded.
4. Ask questions or request a summary that covers all the selected content.

> Analysis results are generated using the AI vendors configured for your organization and may consume credits. See [Credits]({APP_HOST}/billing/credits) for details.

## Pinning a Search to a Dashboard

You can add the current search — together with its filters — as a tile on any dashboard. This lets you monitor the results at a glance without returning to the Search page every time.

1. Run a search.
2. Click **Pin** in the toolbar above the results.
3. Choose an existing dashboard or create a new one.
4. Click **Save**.

The pinned tile refreshes automatically and always shows the latest matching results. See [Dashboard Tiles](../../dashboards/dashboard-tiles) for more information about dashboard tiles.

## Creating an Alert for a Search

Turn a search into an automated monitor so you are notified whenever new matching content appears.

1. Run the search you want to monitor.
2. Click **Alert** in the toolbar above the results.
3. Configure the monitoring frequency and choose your preferred notification methods.
4. Click **Create**.

The system will run your search on the chosen schedule and notify you of any new results. See [About Alerts](../../alerts/about-alerts) and [Types of Monitorings](../../alerts/types-of-monitorings) for more details on how alerts work.
