# Handling Bookmarks

The [Bookmarks]({APP_HOST}/bookmarks) page shows all bookmark collections in your organization. Open a collection to see the bookmarks inside it.

## Creating a Bookmark Collection

1. Go to [News → Bookmarks]({APP_HOST}/bookmarks).
2. Click **+ Add collection**.
3. Enter a name for the collection and click **Save**.

The new collection appears in the list immediately and is available to all members of your organization.

## Adding a Bookmark to a Collection

You can add bookmarks in several ways:

### From the Search module

When you find a relevant article in the [News → Search]({APP_HOST}/documents/search) page, use the **Save** (bookmark) button on the result card. See [Using Search Results](../search/using-results) for a full guide to working with search results. A dialog will appear where you can:

- Choose an existing collection to save into, or
- Type a name to create a new collection on the spot.

Click **Save** to add the bookmark.

### From Notes

You can promote a note to a bookmark directly from the [Notes]({APP_HOST}/notes) page. Click the bookmark icon on a note card, then choose a collection (or create a new one) and click **Save**.

> See [About Notes](../notes/about-notes) and [Handling Notes](../notes/handling-notes) for full details on the Notes module.

### Manually within a Collection

1. Open a collection from [News → Bookmarks]({APP_HOST}/bookmarks).
2. Click **+ Add bookmark**.
3. Enter the **URL** of the page you want to save. The title and excerpt will be filled in automatically when you move to the next field.
4. Adjust the **Title** and **Text** if needed.
5. Click **Save**.

## Editing a Bookmark

1. Open the collection that contains the bookmark.
2. Click the **Edit** (pencil) button on the bookmark card.
3. Update the title, URL, or text as needed.
4. Click **Save**.

## Renaming a Bookmark Collection

1. Go to [News → Bookmarks]({APP_HOST}/bookmarks).
2. Find the collection and click **Rename**.
3. Enter the new name and click **Save**.

You can also rename the collection from inside it: open the collection and click **Rename** in the toolbar at the top.

## Deleting a Bookmark

1. Open the collection that contains the bookmark.
2. Click the **Delete** button on the bookmark card.
3. Confirm the deletion in the prompt.

Deletion is a **soft delete** — the bookmark is marked as deleted but not immediately removed. You can restore it by opening the collection's deleted items view and clicking **Restore** next to the bookmark.

To delete **multiple bookmarks** at once:

1. Select the bookmarks you want to remove using the **Select** button on each card (or use **Select all** in the toolbar).
2. Click **Delete (N)** in the selection toolbar.
3. Confirm the deletion in the prompt.

## Deleting a Bookmark Collection

1. Go to [News → Bookmarks]({APP_HOST}/bookmarks), or open the collection you want to delete.
2. Click **Delete** next to the collection name.
3. Confirm the deletion in the prompt.

Like individual bookmarks, deleting a collection is a **soft delete**. The collection and all its bookmarks are preserved in a deleted state and can be restored if needed.

## Restoring Deleted Items

If you accidentally delete a bookmark or collection, you can undo it:

1. Go to [News → Bookmarks]({APP_HOST}/bookmarks).
2. Look for the **Deleted** section or link to view soft-deleted collections.
3. Find the item you want to recover and click **Restore**.

The restored collection or bookmark will reappear in the active list and be available to all organization members again.
