Analysis Options
A reference for all options available when configuring a document analysis — content, comments, reactions, entities, and advanced settings.
Analysis Options
When you submit documents for analysis fromNews → Analysis, the analysis dialog gives you precise control over what the AI model will do. Options are grouped into three sections:Content(the document itself),Comments, andReactions.
Select theDetailedtab in the analysis dialog to access all options described on this page.
Content Options
These options apply to the body of the submitted documents.
Summary
Generates a summary of the document content. When enabled, you can adjust thedetail levelusing a slider:
| Level | Output |
|---|---|
| Brief | A single-sentence or short paragraph overview |
| Standard | A few bullet points covering the main points |
| Detailed | A thorough multi-point breakdown |
Questions
Ask one or more specific questions about the document content. The AI model reads the document and produces a focused answer for each question you enter.
- Click the field and type your question.
- UseAddto include additional questions.
- ClickTemplatesto pick from your saved question templates or from AI-suggested questions based on the document.
Enabling questions automatically enables Summary as well, so both the full summary and the question answers appear in results.
Facts
Attach one or moreFactsto give the AI model additional background context when analysing the documents. Facts are reusable snippets — company descriptions, domain definitions, or any standing context — that help the model produce more accurate and relevant output.
Entity Recognition
Extracts named entities mentioned in the document: people, organisations, locations, and other identifiable subjects. Results appear in theEntitiessection of the analysis results.
Additional Settings
ExpandAdditional settingsto access lower-level controls:
- Document transform— pre-process the document content before analysis (for example, filtering or restructuring the text).
- Document splitter— control how long documents are split into chunks for processing.
- AI model— select a specific language model to use for this analysis run, overriding the organisation default.
Comments Options
Comments options are available only when at least one of the submitted documents supports comment retrieval. If comments are not available for any submitted document, these options are disabled.
Filter
Restrict the comments included in the analysis using filters such as date range, language, author, or minimum engagement. Only comments matching the filter criteria are passed to the AI model.
Summary
Generates a summary of the comments section. Thedetail levelslider (Brief / Standard / Detailed) works the same as for document summaries. You can also set aweighting modeto control how the model weights comments by their engagement (e.g. likes or reach).
Questions
Ask specific questions about the comment section. Works the same way as document questions but applies to comments rather than the document body. Each question can be weighted separately.
Sentiment
Analyses the overall sentiment (positive, neutral, negative) expressed in the comments. You can optionally enter specific topics to analyse sentiment per topic rather than for comments as a whole.
Word Cloud
Produces a word-frequency cloud from the comment text, highlighting the most commonly used terms. Results are shown as an interactive visual in the analysis results.
Profiles (Beta)
Attempts to collect social profile data for the authors of the comments. You can choose which profile attributes to collect (interests, demographics, etc.). Requires the Profiler feature to be enabled in your subscription.
Segmentation
Splits comments into groups before analysis. For example, you might segment by the document the comment appeared on, by a profile category, or by a custom filter set. Each segment is analysed independently.
Translation
Translates comments to a target language before analysis. Useful when comments are written in multiple languages and you want consistent input for the AI model.
Entity Recognition
Extracts named entities mentioned in the comments, separately from the document entity recognition option.
Reactions Options
Reaction options are available when submitted documents support reaction data (for example, emoji reactions on social media posts).
Filter
Restrict which reactions are included in the analysis by type, date, or other available criteria.
Segmentation
Segment reactions for grouped analysis. Available segmentation modes include by document, by profile category, and by custom filter set.
Tips
- You do not need to enable all options for every run — select only what is relevant to keep costs and processing time low.
- Save frequently used combinations as ananalysis templateto avoid reconfiguring from scratch each time.
- Use theWording (LLM Wizard)tab in the analysis dialog if you are unsure which options to pick — describe your goal in plain language and let the AI configure the options for you.
